Race Reports

Albert:

Twiggy is running out of chances very quickly.

Yesterday she drew wide again, raced back, was last on the turn and only ran past 3 or 4 in the straight. At least it was a slight improvement on her first up run.

She now has one, or at the most two chances to show us she can do something. She will step up to 2000m next start and we will hope for a good draw as I think she needs to get involved in a race to get warm.

We will want a very encouraging run from her next start (or possibly two) to warrant carrying on. If she can't do something in her next 1-2 starts over distance then it will be time to pull the plug and look to sell her.

I will let you know the details of her crunch start as soon as I have them.

Regards
Albert

Mike (view from the box):

Well, I'm sure those that had read my report on race 9 would have been wanting me to be proved wrong, and to be honest so was I... but different fiddle same tune !

She broke well enough and just dropped back to last, although she made a little headway in the straight she was never going to trouble the judge and Kelly certainly gave her enough encouragement. With the exception of the favourite, the field was weak and a placing in the first 6 should have been possible. The track was as close to perfect from all reports and there can be no excuses.. surely.

We have been here before, with a horse we owned in the UK... sometimes they just work it out.. they get fed whether they win or not.

In the words of a good song, ask yourselves "How long can this keep going on ?"

Summary: Always Behind
