Weller Racing Stables - Horses In & Out Of Training
| RETIRED | |
| 5th May 2006 | She was disappointing at Woodville but she tried very hard. She had the blinkers on and it helped her travel in the race better, but she just couldn’t finish it off. K Smith said her attitude was better and she really wanted to do it and tried hard but just couldn’t make any ground up on the leaders in the straight. We will see how she comes through it and discuss with her owners what to do from here. |
| 4th May 2006 | RACE 12 - WOODVILLE |
| 21st Apr 2006 | She galloped a lot better with blinkers on last week, so will race her in them at Woodville over 2000m. She lightened up a bit after her last race, but she is bright and has been working well. She will need to perform at Woodville to justify continuing her career as a racehorse. her work has been good, so if we draw well, she will have every chance. |
25th Apr 2006 |
ALBERT:
Twiggy galloped in blinkers this last week and it did sharpen her up. |
21st Apr 2006 |
She went an ok race at Taranaki. K Smith said try her with blinkers on as he felt she wasn’t on her game in the running and didn’t give 100% when asked. She will gallop with "Blinkers On" on Saturday and decide where she goes from there. There are a couple of options for her, either Waverley or Woodville the following week, but she will need to perform in her next start to warrant continuing with her as a racing proposition. |
| 13th Apr 2006 | RACE 11 - TARANAKI (NEW PLYMOUTH) |
12th Apr 2006 |
She galloped very well yesterday and seemed to like our bordering soft track. She has lightened up a bit, but she is feeling very well and her work has been good. Hopefully she can go a better race tomorrow than she has the last two starts as if she races up to her work will be a chance. |
7th Apr 2006 |
She has been a box of birds since her race and has been totally full of herself. She will go to Taranaki and will race over 2000m as she is a naturally fit mare and because she doesn’t over race early, the distance this early won’t hurt her at all. We will confirm a start after we gallop her on Saturday. |
31st Mar 2006 |
Went ok at Otaki and is ready for more ground now as we knew she would. She just started working into it at the end. K Myers said it was a nice run and is ready to step up the distance. She said that she didn’t intend to get so far back on her but because of the draw she had no choice. She is the type that would handle stepping up in distance again as she is naturally fit. |
| 30th Mar 2006 | RACE 10 - OTAKI |
24th Mar 2006 |
She hasn’t turned a hair since her run at Wanganui. She has eaten everything and her work has been just as good as before the race, nothing has bothered her at all. She lightened up a bit, but not too bad and is very bright and feels very well. There is a mile race for her at Otaki, so will nominate and see how she goes between now and then. |
17th Mar 2006 |
She was very disappointing at Wanganui over the 1320m. After her really good trial and having raced well at Wanganui previously, she just didn’t fire a shot. We know that she will improve with ground but she had been galloping so well we felt quite good about her race and that the shorter distance would suit her fresh up. We will put her over 1600m and some rain around would help her also. |
| 16th Mar 2006 | RACE 9 - WANGANUI |
10th Mar 2006 |
She is very well and is waiting to go. She has held her condition well and we will wait for Wanganui next Thursday. She is working better than she usually does and going on her work we should get the chocolates this time. |
3rd Mar 2006 |
She is working extremely well and has taken another step up since her trial. We could not be more pleased with her and really seems to have come of age as a four year old. She will race at Wanganui on the 16th. |
24th Feb 2006 |
She has come through her trial very well. She lightened up a bit but she was always going to. She is starting to put a bit back on but we haven’t eased up on her too much she is still been doing a fair bit of work. She is still on target for the Wanganui meeting and going on her trial and work since, she would have to be a good show. |
17th Feb 2006 |
She went a huge trial on Tuesday over 1000m and went from being well back on the turn, to being just beaten by the line. Considering that she never had a jump out and went straight to the trials, made the effort even better. K Myers rode her and couldn’t say enough about her great run, saying it was a huge effort and she was an absolute lovely ride. Felt real good and just lobbed along behind them, picked up when asked to and went to the line strongly.
We don’t want that to be her best effort, so we will not start her until the Wanganui meeting on the 16th. She has always raced well there and being the 1320 metres, this is also a distance she likes fresh up. She has lightened up after the trial so the month in between will do her well. |
| 14th Feb 2006 |
ALBERT REPORT. A fantastic trial today by Twiggy over 1000 metres.
She entered the stalls no problem at all and when they jumped, she came out OK. She settled back and was 4 lengths behind the bunch at the 600 metres and still no closer to them on the turn.
Into the straight and Kelly Myers who rode her hooked her to the outside and just gave her a little push and she absolutely flew down the outside to run second beaten by about 3/4 of a length. She did this all under her own steam without the whip being pulled on her and with the gentlest of encouragement.
The trip to the South Island may well have been the making of her as her attitude was very good today and so was her performance. Kelly Myers has said she would love to ride her at the races and that she was a lovely horse to ride.
I would like to race her at Wanganui fresh up next month, as this is the course she has gone best on and there is a nice 1320 metre race which we feel will suit her going on todays performance. It means waiting a month for her first start but we want to set her up to race very well in her first start and we believe it will be worth waiting for.
All good news and I will keep in contact with you over the coming weeks. I believe the trial will be shown on trackside next Monday morning. |
| 10th Feb 2006 | Her second gallop wasn’t quite as good as her first one, which was very good, but the plough was testing for her at the time. She will have another gallop on Saturday, then she will go to the trials next week as she has come up quite quickly as she usually does. She is not far away from racing, but will see how she goes at the trials and make a plan for her after that. |
| 3rd Feb 2006 | She is getting very full of herself and her work has been top notch. She will be ready for the next set of jump outs or trials on the 14th and should then be ready to go to the races. She is holding her condition OK for her, but has obviously matured in her approach to her work. We are looking forward to her campaign. |
| 27th Jan 2006 | She galloped very well last Saturday and will go again this Saturday. She will head to the next jump outs which should be in two weeks. She is not a horse which holds a lot of condition but looks very well for her. |
| 20th Jan 2006 | She is very well and will have her first gallop on Saturday. She doesn’t need much but won’t quite make the jump outs next week. She has been working very well and looks good for her. |
| 13th Jan 2006 | She has been working really well and we are pleased with her. She will gallop next week and will go to the jump outs in two weeks time. From this point she will not need much to get to the races as she comes to hand quickly once she starts doing fast work. |
| 6th Jan 2006 | Christmas / New Year Break - Updates will appear next week. |
| 23rd Dec 2005 | She is very well and is working well at the track. She is a little way away from doing any more as she does plenty going on and off the track at the moment, just needs to settle down a bit. It is very easy to overdo it with her as she works well and feels like she needs more but I would like her to handle things a bit better before increasing anything. She looks good and is very bright in herself. |
16th Dec 2005 |
She has been to the track this past week and apart from her usual antics coming off, her work has been very good. She works nice and quietly but does get on the bit when she feels like it, but still plays around a lot coming off the track. Some days are a bit better than others but it is just her and we just have to be careful not to do too much with her too soon. She looks good for her but will tighten up quickly once she does more. |
9th Dec 2005 |
She definitely needs to go up to the track next week, so she is telling us! She is just starting to get full of herself through the forestry, but we don’t want to do too much with her for a while as she will start to fall away. So she will do some light work at the track for the next couple of weeks. |
2nd Dec 2005 |
Has been working really nicely through the forestry this past week. She has been nice and settled and doing it all with ease so far. Will give her the rest of the week there then head to the track next week. She looks good but did tuck up a bit for the first few days of coming in. |
25th Nov 2005 |
She is taking a few days to settle in which is usual for her. She has spelled ok for her, but she does better when she is in work so in the next few weeks we will start to get a line on whether her trip away last season was the making of her . |

No reports whilst having a spell out at grass. <Spell: 28th July 2005 - 21st Nov 2005 (approx. 4 months) > |
1st Aug 2005 |
Happy Birthday - Twiggy moves from being classified as a Filly to a Mare. |
29th Jul 2005 |
She went a great race the first time, but didn’t really go on with it from there. In saying that she never settled for J Bullard and we don’t think they saw eye to eye at all. She was a totally different filly down there and will improve heaps from it, it did her the world of good. She will go out for a couple of months now and will come back better and stronger for it. |
| 24th Jul 2005 | RACE 8 - TIMARU |
22nd Jul 2005 |
She is very well and we are looking forward to getting her over 2100 metres this Sunday at Timaru. She has drawn badly, but this will not worry her as we will look to get back and come over the top of them in the straight. She is very fit and the South Island’s leading jockey, Jamie Bullard rides. |
15th Jul 2005 |
We were very pleased with her first run in the South Island last Sunday on a turning track which didn’t suit her style of racing. She settled well back under instructions and just lobbed along, not spending a penny in the running. Still last at the 600m, she started to warm up and finished very strongly in the short 250m straight for 7th, finishing better than anything else in the race. She has pulled up very well and will race at Timaru next Sunday over 2100m where the extra distance will suit her down to the ground. |
| 10th Jul 2005 | RACE 7 - WAIMATE |
8th Jul 2005 |
She was a little unsettled on her trip down to the South Island but had settled in much better by Thursday afternoon. She is racing at Waimate on Sunday in a maiden 1800 metres, a distance which will suit her. Lisa Young rides her and she won’t know herself with drawing barrier 4. Her gallops have been good leading into this race. |
1st Jul 2005 |
She is jumping out of her skin and ready to go. We wanted to start her over at least a mile next start, but there is nothing coming up for her so she will head south also. There is a mdn 1800m race for her on Sunday week, which will be right up her alley, with a 2000m race later on if all going well. |
30th Jun 2005 |
Twiggy will be heading down South on our campaign in search of better
race tracks and better distances next Wednesday. She is likely to start at Waimate on the 10th with
Ashburton on the 14th, also an option. Safely through that race, we will look at
Timaru on the 24th for her. We are still finalising travel plans, but it looks like we will be
based in Christchurch. |
24th Jun 2005 |
She was very disappointing at Awapuni as she had galloped so well at home beforehand, improving so much since her fresh up run. There were no stand out excuses, but maybe a few minor things that may have contributed. One being Awapuni itself, the other being second up syndrome, and another being distance. She has pulled up well and hasn’t left an oat since, working very keenly and very full of herself. There are not a lot of options around for her over the next couple of weeks, so we may give her an easy fortnight and freshen her up a bit again, she will still be fit enough to go over a bit more ground. |
| 18th Jun 2005 | RACE 6 - MANAWATU |
17th Jun 2005 |
She has been very well this week and we are looking forward to her race on Saturday, especially as she hasn’t drawn the
car park for a change. We are hoping that she will get a sit just behind mid-field with a few behind her, but they may go a bit quick for her at the start, so we will just have to see how it plays. It would’ve been nicer if it was a mile, but in saying that she is still fresh enough to be competitive in the 1400m. |
10th Jun 2005 |
Went a great race at Wanganui, even after having no luck in the running. She never managed to get any cover the whole way, but didn’t have any other options as we didn’t want to get too far back in the case that she may switch off on us. R Stam rode her well and was told to ride for luck, but didn’t get any. He was full of praise for her after facing the breeze the whole way, and still managing to run on after covering so much extra ground. Would like to put her over a mile next start but there are no 3yo races over that distance, only a 1400m at Awapuni next Saturday. Will see how she gallops on Tuesday and see what distance would suit. |
| 4th Jun 2005 | RACE 5 - WANGANUI |
3rd Jun 2005 |
She has galloped well this week and while I would not say she has reveled in the conditions, she hasn’t minded them. She has an unfortunate draw of 22 out of 22 and will actually start in the car park and will need to hurdle a couple of fences just to get on the track. Ronald Stam will ride her and does all the work on her at home. Our game plan will be to get midfield if we can but we will be dictated by the way she jumps. She has improved from her last campaign. |
27th May 2005 |
She has come through her trial really well and is very settled in her work. She will gallop in company on Saturday and will go to Wanganui next Saturday for a maiden 3yo 1320 metres, where she ran her best race in her first campaign. |
20th May 2005 |
She jumped well in her trial and fought all the way to the line, going down by less than a length and just blowing out the last bit. We originally looked at starting her campaign at Foxton on the 6th of June over 1200 metres, but will now opt for a three year old 1320 metre race at Wanganui on the 4th of June, where she has performed well before. We will work on her fitness between now and the race as she blew a bit after the trial, but we are very pleased with the way she looks at this stage of her campaign. |
17th May 2005 |
ALBERT REPORT. Twiggy trialled over 800 metres today on a track that was cutting out (a bit wet). |
13th May 2005 |
She galloped well on Tuesday and will jump out at Levin next Wednesday. She will head for Foxton on the 6th of June all going well. She looks good and although still gets toey, she works good. |
9th May 2005 |
Twiggy is coming to hand well and will have a jump out next Wednesday. She has filled out a lot while she has been in work and I am excited about the campaign ahead for her. (Albert Bosma) |
29th Apr 2005 |
She is working well and came through her first run along well. She will have another on Saturday and will see where she is at and go from there. She is only a week or so away from having a jump out. She looks really well. |
22nd Apr 2005 |
She is thriving this preparation. She has filled out and put on weight and is enjoying her work. She galloped for the first time last Saturday and went well. She will gallop again tomorrow and is about two weeks away from a jump out. |
15th Apr 2005 |
She is coming along very well and will also gallop for the first time in her new campaign tomorrow. She showed us a glimpse of what she can do in her second run last campaign and we just need to get her to produce this consistently in her races this time. She has filled out and developed and will be around 3 weeks from a jump out. |
8th Apr 2005 |
She is putting on weight which shows that she is enjoying her routine. She can be a handful, keeps us on our toes and has a character all of her own. She has also been doing slow work so far and will have her first serious gallop next Saturday. |
1st Apr 2005 |
She is into her routine and goes about things her way still. She works good as long as it’s her way, but she has always been like that. She looks really well and has good condition on her for her. She doesn’t need a lot of work and is a couple of weeks away from having her first gallop. |
31st Mar 2005 |
END OF FINANCIAL YEAR |
25th Mar 2005 |
She has settled down nicely and is working really well. Still a little toey here and there, but overall she is good. She lightened off a bit when she first come in, but is holding it well now. She is a few weeks away from having her first run along. |
18th Mar 2005 |
She is working very well and is bright and happy. She will go to the track on Saturday and her workload will pick up from now. She looks good and is doing everything right. |
11th Mar 2005 |
She has settled down nicely and working well. She looks great and is enjoying her routine now. She is doing some quiet work through the forestry and she is happy with that. |
4th Mar 2005 |
She came in on Monday and looks good. She is well and full of herself and quite a handful, but she always is to start with before she settles down. |

Dec 04 - Feb 05 |
No reports whilst having a spell out at grass. <Spell: 14th December 2004 - 28th February 2005> |
| 17th Dec 2004 | Didn't have her mind on the job at all last start and N Harris said she just didn't want to be there. She played up quite a bit before the race and it told on her. We have turned her out now to let her mature and fill out as she has grown a lot this time in and got very lanky. She will be better for a break and she has shown us that she has ability, she just needs a bit of time. |
| 9th Dec 2004 | RACE 4 - OPUNAKE (NEW PLYMOUTH) |
| 3rd Dec 2004 | She has done really well and we are looking forward to her next start on Thursday. She has filled out quite a bit and has been working nicely. She will go to Opunake for a Maiden 3yo 1400m. Hopefully she will get a nice draw to slot her in amongst them. |
| 26th Nov 2004 | She seems to have pulled up well from her last start. We did have her in for the Classic Consolation but she drew the car park again and we decided not to go. We felt she wouldn't have the pace to get across them, so the other option was to drop her back, and after her last run we didn't want to do that. She needs a reasonable draw to get amongst them. There is a race for her on the 9th at Opunake, it is a maiden 3yo 1400m. |
| 12th Nov 2004 | Went a very disappointing run at Awapuni yesterday. She jumped ok, but just drifted back and lost touch and interest. R Stam said he had niggled her to keep her up with them most of the way, and in the straight, she just didn't want to be there. We will see how she is in the next few days although she had indicated that all was well with her work leading up to the race. |
| 11th Nov 2004 | RACE 3 - RANGITIKEI (AWAPUNI) |
| 3rd Nov 2004 | Current Plan: Next start will be on Thursday 11th November at Awapuni in a maiden 1400m. She is entered for the Levin Classic on the 25th November over 1600m. The 1400m is a natural step for her, as she steps up to a mile. It is likely that she will not have won enough prize money to get into the Classic field, but there is a consolation that day worth $27,500 which would be a nice race for her at this stage of her preparation. |
| 29th Oct 2004 | Went a great race at Wanganui for fourth. She got caught a little wide, but she is a big striding filly and needs a bit of room to move. She was wide turning for home but still had cover on the outside of her, and came home very impressively. It was a top effort and she felt very well in the running. She has pulled up well, has tightened up quite a bit but that is just going to be her. There is a race for her at Awapuni on the 11th and although it is only over 1300m, if she gets a better barrier draw and doesn't have to do much she will go well again. |
| 21st Oct 2004 | RACE 2 - WANGANUI |
| 14th Oct 2004 | Was possibly a bit disappointing at Woodville, but things didn't go right for her from the jump. Being in barrier one, she didn't jump confidently and was on the back foot all the way. She managed to tack on through out, but the damage had already been done. She has pulled up well and will decide after she gallops on Saturday whether we nominate her for a maiden 3yo race at Wanganui. |
| 7th Oct 2004 | RACE 1 - WOODVILLE |
| 1st Oct 2004 | She has also galloped well this past week and is looking for more ground all the time. She is really stretching out now, but still covers the ground well with her big strides. She is still on track for Woodville and it will be good to see her go over the 1400m. |
| 24th Sept 2004 | She is ticking over nicely and is working well. She has settled down a lot and is maturing all the time. We will be on target for the 7th at Woodville. She also galloped well this week and is looking for more ground all the time now. She has a big stride and covers the ground easily. |
| 17th Sept 2004 | She has come through her trial very well. She has put on a bit of weight since and has really settled down. All going well there is a race for her on the 7th at Woodville in a maiden 3 yr old 1400m which will suit her nicely. |
| 10th Sept 2004 | Went a good trial
having gone into the barriers a lot better than her previous efforts.
She jumped quick and lead them up then just blew out a bit in the
straight. We had possibly been a little too easy on her since her
last jump out, but that's what the trial was for, to see where she’s
at. We will see how she is in the next week and all going well will find
a nice 1400m for her. |
| 3rd Sept 2004 | She galloped well on Tuesday and will have another on Saturday in preparation for her trial on Tuesday. She is very well and has been going to the beach, which she really enjoys. She will go 1000m at the trials and will decide her immediate future from there. |
| 26th Aug 2004 | She has come through her jump out very well and has worked nicely since. She is very relaxed in her work now and has matured a lot this time in. She is on target to go to our trials still on the 7th. |
| 20th Aug 2004 | Went well in her jump out but did have the usual problems with getting her into the gates. She is not getting any better but at least she is no worse. She has to have the blindfold on her, and then she resists for a while. Once in she doesn't have a care in the world. She jumped first then settled well running third till the turn then really lengthened out nicely to finish second out of four, being beaten by only half a length. She felt very well and will go to our trials on the 7th. |
19th Aug 2004 |
ALBERT REPORT. Twiggy had a jump out over 800 metres at Foxton on Wednesday. After being a little unco-operative at the barriers, she went in and jumped well to lead before being restrained back. She hooked out in the straight and finished very strongly to run second under a nice hold.
She is coming up very well and will now go to the trials at Foxton on the 7th September and will then be ready to make her race debut.
Bring your ouzo for that one. Bella, bella, bella. |
| 13th Aug 2004 | Her work since her last jump out has improved heaps. She is really settled now and works very nicely. Will have another jump out at Foxton on Wednesday and we will assess her from there. She has really matured this preparation and is doing well. |
| 5th Aug 2004 | Had to go 800m because of being a three year old now. They got her into the gates eventually, took a little time but wasn't too bad. She jumped out first of six, then settled around fourth and worked home very nicely. The track was heavy so she blew out half way down, but still kept trying. It was a very nice jump out, mainly getting her into the barriers but was a nice run also. Will give her a bit of time to get over that as she has worried about it a little. |
4th Aug 2004 |
ALBERT REPORT. Twiggy went very well in her jump out today at Levin. The track was very heavy and we only wanted to send her 600m because of where she is fitness-wise, but the only jump out for her was over 800m.
She was a bit of a handful behind the barrier, but once in jumped beautifully to lead before being restrained to settle back. She stretched out very nicely in the straight, not pushed to run third. The jockey was very impressed and said she felt awesome. With her mothers breeding and the way she is stretching out she looks like she will get over ground.
We are very much on target with her, we just need to get her barrier manners sorted out. |
| 30th July 2004 |
We have been practicing her barrier manners during the week and she has improved. We will still do more as we can't afford to lose any more time with this problem. she will go to jump outs in Levin next Wednesday. Her gallop have been very good and won't lack on the fitness side. |
| 23rd July 2004 |
Unfortunately played up quite badly at the barriers at the jump outs on Tuesday and wouldn't go in. They all got a bit stirred up around there and that was it. So we have to work on that over the next week, but she has been in before and will go again with a bit more patience. so she will go through the practice ones everyday till we are happy with her. Until we do this we don't know if it will set our plans back with the trials or not, we may have to give her another jump out. |

| 15th July 2004 |
She has been working very nicely lately and has galloped well. She will go to our jump outs next Wednesday just over the 600m. She is well and looks good. She will need more ground and it will be too short for her, but it will help her fitness along and get her a step closer to the races. |

| 8th July 2004 |
Her work this past week has been great. She has settled down lots and really enjoying her work. She will have her first run along on Saturday and will head to our next jump outs. She is very well and is starting to look for more now. |

| 30th June 2004 |
She is settling in nicely at the track, but still a bit of a handful coming off. She is getting better all the time in her work though. She is about a couple of weeks away from doing any fast work, we don't want to wind her up too quickly. There are trials at the end of July that we will try to head for with her. |

| 30th June 2004 |
ALBERT REPORT. Twiggy has started at the track doing pace work and is probably a couple of weeks away from galloping. She is working well, but is very cheeky coming off the track – a trait of her mother who was a Group 3 winner. She is probably 3 weeks away from a jump out and about a month away from a trial. |
| 25th June 2004 |
She is working really well and has been to the track a couple of times. She can still get a bit wound up but she takes a few days to settle into anything new in her routine. She looks well and is coming along nicely. |

| 18th June 2004 |
She is really coming along in leaps and bounds now. She has really settled down and is working very well. She will have another week at home then go to the track. |

No report this week as Heather has broken a couple of fingers. |

| 3rd June 2004 |
She has settled down a lot and is working very nicely now. She still has a bit of bounce in her, but once out working goes along well. Will give her another week at home then take her to the track. |

| 28th May 2004 |
She has been very full of herself in this past week. Just keen to get out and on with it all, and has been working well at home. She looks very well and will have another week at home before moving on up to the track. |
| 21st May 2004 |
Came in last Friday and looks really well. She will have a couple of weeks at home to settle in before we step her up. She has had a good break and will be good to go a step further with her this time in. |

END OF FINANCIAL YEAR |

| 12th Mar 2004 |
Got a little fired up at the jump outs and she ended up going by herself. Didn't get as much of a line on her as we would've liked but it was still good education for her. She went a nice time by herself and ran straight, doing everything right. She has had enough for now and needs a bit of time out to let her mature more. Will keep her in for a couple of days to make sure she is alright, then send her out. |

| 10th Mar 2004 |
ALBERT REPORT (Foxton Jump Out) She was down to have a jump out at Foxton today, but once she got around to the barriers, she decided that she wouldn't go into them. This is what her dam was like, and she won a group 3 race, so I'm taking it as a good sign. After the field of three had jumped away, they loaded her by herself and she went 600m in a good time of 37 seconds. She will no go for a break of about a month before coming back in and being prepared for a race. |
| 4th Mar 2004 | She has been through the barriers again and was much better. Will jump out on Wednesday at Foxton and will then decide whether to get a race into her before the winter or turn her out for a month. Will see how she comes through it and monitor her condition which can fluctuate a lot. We are very happy with her work and has progressed nicely. |
| 26th Feb 2004 | Have had her through the barriers once but needs to go again which we will do on Saturday. She was a bit of a problem to get in but we got there eventually, but needs more practice. All going well she may go to the Levin jump outs also. She has been galloping nicely, but does get a little lost if the markers are out a bit. She is better following the rail but will get used to that with more experience. |
| 19th Feb 2004 | Had no hope of putting her through the barriers last week. Will do it this Saturday weather permitting. She is working very well but have kept her quiet this past week as she won't take a lot of fast work to get her fit. Her condition is holding up well and she looks very well. |
| 13th Feb 2004 | Has worked well this week and will go through the barriers tomorrow. She won't need much work as she is very athletic. Will have a jump out within the next fortnight and go from there. Her condition is holding and she is very bright and keen to do her work. Will see how she handles the jump out as to whether we carry on with her or give her some time off. |
| 8th Feb 2004 | She is coming along in leaps and bounds. She galloped with another on Saturday and was very professional about it all. She went straight and true, going a very nice gallop. These jump outs have come up a bit quick for her as she is about another couple of weeks away. We will put her through the barriers next week with a jump out to follow after that. Depending on how she handles that we may give her a month off, then bring her back in and may get a race into her later. |
| 23rd Jan 2004 | Will give her a quiet run down the straight tomorrow as she is ready for the next step also. She is working well but can be a bit lazy so this will help her along some. We may head to Waverley with her also, will just see how she copes with the fast work. |
| 16th Jan 2004 | She is also working nicely at the track. She was looking around a bit but is not bothered by much now. She won't take a lot to come up so will be patient with her and is also a few weeks away from having her first run along. Her condition is holding up well at this stage. |
| 9th Jan 2004 | She is also coming along very well. She is enjoying her work a lot more this time in and went to the track yesterday also. She worked very well and was not worried about much at all, was really quite professional about it all. She has tightened quite quickly but eats very well and will probably take quite a bit to keep the weight on her, but as long as she keeps eating well, shouldn't be a problem. |
| 19th Dec 2003 | She is a totally different filly this time in. She is much more settled and is enjoying it all a lot more. She is working well and very relaxed about the whole picture. Will keep working her at home for a few more weeks yet. |
| 12th Dec 2003 | Came
back into work this week and has strengthened a huge amount. She
has filled out all over and is quite solid now. She was quite
slender, and weak when she went out. The time out has done wonders
for her and has come back in a different filly. Will work her
along quietly also. |

| 3rd Oct 2003 | She was doing everything right but was starting to get a bit sour. We turned her out this week and will give her a good couple of months as she needs to fill out. She was growing up so much, leaving her body behind. But we were very happy with what she had done to date and will benefit a lot from some time off now. |
| 26th Sept 2003 | No Weller Report this week due to PC virus problems at Heathers. |
| 19th Sept 2003 | Is continuing to work nicely and will take her up to the track within the next week. She will then go out for a spell as she needs to fill out and grow. She will come back a lovely filly and she is growing a bit but her body needs to catch up now. |
| 12th Sept 2003 | Have been very impressed with her this past week. She has been a little toey to get on but once going has been working really nicely. She continues to improve all the time and is still eating very well. She still has to fill out a lot as she is quite lean but she is very fine boned. She has been given the stable name of "Twiggy". |
| 5th Sept 2003 | Has really settled into the routine now and doing well. She is over her cold and eating good. She started work this week and is going around the roads nicely. She is starting to fill out and will carry on with her. |
| 29th Aug 2003 | Has
nearly shaken off her cold and has settled in very well. She is
eating everything now indicating that things are on the improve with
her. She is starting to put on some weight and is a lot brighter.
Will carry on with her next week from where we were and she won't take
long to come up as we had just started to ride her. She was
dealing with it all well and she won't be a problem. |
| 22nd Aug 2003 | Has
finally got over her cold of which she had a pretty good dose of.
Have still been doing some ground work with her and she has taken
everything in her stride. She won't be a problem to break in and
will start riding her next week. |
| 15th Aug 2003 | She came up from the South Island sale that we purchased her at last week. She has taken a few days to settle in and now has a cold. She is being treated for it and once she gets over that we will continue to break her in. She is a lovely big filly with a bit of filling out to do which time will take care of. |
| 8th Aug 2003 | Filly Purchased from South Island Sales for $10,000. |
